Jessica McClellan

For Jessica, practicing law means guiding individuals and families through some of the most stressful moments of their lives with steady judgment, clear advice, and strong advocacy. Long before becoming an attorney, she spent years working directly with crime victims and families in crisis, experience that deeply informs both her legal strategy and her approach to client care.

Jessica earned her bachelor’s degree in Criminology, with a minor in Journalism, from the University of North Carolina–Wilmington, where she was a student-athlete on both the Indoor and Beach Volleyball teams.

For the next three years, Jessica served as a Victim Services Coordinator in the Wake County District Attorney’s Office. In that role, she worked closely with victims of domestic violence and assisted prosecutors on serious felony cases, including homicides. Her extensive experience with the court system, together with her own background in the foster care system, gives her a grounded perspective on how legal decisions affect real people.

Jessica then earned her JD from Campbell University School of Law. She was a standout member of Campbell’s nationally ranked Mock Trial Team and helped secure a regional championship at the American Association for Justice competition.  She was inducted into the Order of the Barristers, a national honor recognizing excellence in oral advocacy.

Jessica found her passion in family law interning for Marshall & Taylor while in law school and really enjoys the fact that she is able to see the positive impact that her involvement in her client’s cases has on them.  She enjoys working closely with each client to ensure that their needs are met and that they are receiving the highest level of representation.

Outside of her practice, Jessica enjoys spending time at the coast with her husband, Andrew, and their two rescue dogs, Sullivan and Banks. She also likes exploring Raleigh’s restaurant scene and attending football and baseball games across the state.
