Country singer and six-time Grammy award winner Randy Travis filed for divorce fom his wife/manager, Elizabeth, in Albuquerque, New Mexico on Thursday. The filing did not state why the couple decided to split except that "a state of incompatibility exists between the parties".
Travis met his wife as a teenager at a talent contest in Charlotte, North Carolina in the 1970s. The two married in 1991. According to court documents, the divorce was finalized on Friday, a day after it was filed. Sources say the filing called for an equal division of assets. In addition, a family spokesperson told reporters that Travis will keep Elizabeth as his manager. The two have worked together for 34 years.
