Thursday October 14th, 29-year old singer Christina Aguilera filed for divorce from her music executive husband, Jordan Bratman. The two were married in 2005 and together have a 2-year old son, Max.
On Tuesday October 12th, Aguilera announced that she and Bratman had been separated. Court documents show the two were officially separated on September 11th. In the filing, Aguilera cites her and Bratman's prenuptial agreement as a way to determine how their property and assets should be divided.
Furthermore, Aguilera has stated that she hopes she and Bratman can share joint physical and legal custody of their son. "Although Jordan and I are separated, our commitment to our son Max remains strong as ever," stated the singer.
