Nina Emerick

Nina was raised in California, but North Carolina has been her home for over 20 years. She began her career as a family law and criminal defense paralegal in Durham in 2014 after receiving her paralegal certificate from UNC. Nina enlisted in the US Army as a paralegal in 2016 and currently works as a legal assistance paralegal. She graduated from Gonzaga University School of Law in 2026. While in law school, Nina was a member of the Moot Court Honors Council. She also gained experience working at the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Seattle and clerked at the Washington State Court of Appeals for The Honorable Judge Cooney. While on active duty, she worked with Special Victim’s Prosecutors and truly found her passion for advocating for clients and helping them through tough times and a complex legal system.

In Nina’s free time, she enjoys traveling the world, reading, and hot yoga. She has a tuxedo cat named Michael Jordan, which she adopted after her first week in law school.
